Hello!  I’m so excited to be shooting with you.  I’m going to give you some info just so you understand the process and what to expect.

First, I would love to tell you a little a little bit more about myself.  I’m Trina, and I will be your photographer.  I’m an award winning wedding and portrait photographer, based out of Mountlake Terrace, WA.  My awards include being named in the top 5 wedding photographers in Western WA, 2 years in a row, by the King5 Evening Magazine’s Best of Western WA.  While based in Los Angeles, we were also named in the top 5 Los Angeles Wedding Photographers by the LA Hotlist.  WeddingWire, has also given us the Bride’s Choice Award for the past few years, which according to them puts us in the top 5% of wedding vendors nationwide.  You can probably tell from my awards, that I have a passion for weddings.  Although weddings are my specialty, I do shoot all types of shoots, and have shot 100’s of boudoir clients over the past year alone.  In addition to being a photographer, I’m a military wife, and a mother to four beautiful children ages 8, 6, 4, and an infant. So between my business and my children, I don’t have much time for anything else, but that works out okay, since my business and children are my life and passions.

A Guide to Posing

I know you may be a little nervous about this shoot.  Most women who come in for these shoots are, but when they leave, they all agree that it was fun and a great experience.  I know you probably haven’t done a shoot like this before, but relax and come have fun and get awesome photos.

As far as posing goes, I will guide you through poses, unless you prefer to pose on your own and request me not to pose you.  If you don’t request otherwise, I will guide you through the whole session.  Some tips I’ll remind you of at the shoot are to always have purpose for your hands.  Your “go to” spots for your hands are your thighs or hair when lying down or sitting, and hair or smallest part of the waist when standing.  When your hands are on your waist, you can throw out the hip a little to add more attitude to the pose.  Avoid putting your hands on your belly, as it draws attention there, and most of us don’t want attention drawn there.  Arching often looks very sexy, especially when you’re lying on your back.  If you’re lying down, and I ask you to look back at me, focus on keeping your forehead relaxed.  Most people’s foreheads want to wrinkle when they look back, so I might ask you to focus on relaxing your forehead if I see that happening.

It’s important that you’re on time if you want to experience your whole session time.  Please map the location before heading out.  If for some reason you are late, we’ll still shoot with whatever time is left in your session.  Unfortunately I won’t be able to extend your session to make up for the lost time since I generally fill up every time slot.  If you are going to be more than 15 minutes late, please text or call, otherwise I will assume that you are a “no show.”

How to Find the Studio

Our studio is located at 6405 218th St SW ste. 203 Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043. This is the same building as WorkSource, so you will see their large sign out front.  When you get to the building, DO NOT go through the main entrance.  We have our own private entrance.  If you’re looking at the front of the building, our door will be to the far right on the outside of the building.  You can arrive up to 10 minutes before your shoot time, but please don’t come in earlier than that as I may be with another client, unless the curtains on the front door are open.  If the curtains on the front door are open, feel free to come in.  If the curtains are closed, that means that I’m with a client, or finishing up another project before your shoot.  If you have any problems finding the studio, feel free to call the studio at 425-640-0231.  Be sure to bring that number with you just in case you need to get a hold of me.  If you call and I do not answer, it may be because I'm with another client, so please leave a message with your call back number and I'll get back to you as soon as I am able.  Please either park in a spot labeled 203 in front of our door, or in the main lot you can park in a visitor spot.  If you park in a spot labeled with a different suite number, they can have you towed if you're not visiting their business, so it's very important that you park in a 203 spot, or a visitor spot.  Thanks so much for understanding.

Hair, Makeup, Wardrobe and Tanning

At this time I do not provide hair, makeup or wardrobe services.  If you’re able to get your hair and makeup professionally done, I do recommend it.  If you choose to spray tan before the shoot, please do it a couple days before the shoot so you know the color and will have less noticeable blotches if anything went wrong.

Wardrobe Changes

Your shoot comes with up to 3 wardrobe changes.  Please do not bring more than 3 outfits to shoot in.  If you buy new outfits or stockings for the shoot, I recommend trying them on before the shoot as I’ve had clients try their new outfit or stockings on at the shoot only to find that it didn’t fit or was damaged.  Please choose the outfits you’ll be using in advance instead of bringing tons of outfits and trying to make those decisions during the shoot.  Your choice of wardrobe is a personal preference, so I don’t need to see your selection in advance.  The types of outfit vary from fully dressed in a regular outfit, to bra and panty sets.  If will you will be wanting to wrap in a sheet as one of your wardrobes, please bring your own sheet.  You can check out the boudoir section on our site at http://psphotography-video.com to get an idea of what other women have worn to their shoots.  Some outfits have tags that don’t want to stay in, so either be prepared to keep tucking them in, or you can cut them out in advance.  Also, don’t forget to bring a couple pairs of cute shoes.

I am not a wardrobe stylist, and I ask that you please not expect me to help you get dressed.  If you have outfits that require an additional person, please bring a female friend along to help you.  If you think you’ll be fine on your own, but realize you need help tying or hooking something, I may be able to help, but I’m not skilled in laces and clips, so although I’m willing to help, please don’t come with the expectation that I will be dressing you.  I cannot lace corsets that tie in the back, so please be certain that you can do it on your own if you have one, or bring someone to help you.  Thanks for understanding.

Having a Friend at the Session

Boudoir photography has become a very social thing. A lot of women bring friends with them, and sometimes two women will schedule their sessions back to back. However, I am not comfortable having males at these shoots.  You’re more than welcome to bring a female friend or two, but I cannot have males present during the session.  If you have a friend at the shoot, they can help you get dressed, and can help with encouragement and support. Friends cannot take photos with their own cameras during the session and need to stay out of the way of photography. Any interference such as this will be detrimental to the final product. Thank you so much for understanding.

Time Limit, Proofing and Editing

This shoot includes a 45 minute session.  We cannot go over this time as the next client will be arriving about 10-15 minutes after your shoot time is over.  Your 45 minutes includes your shoot and any extra time you need to get ready and prepared for the shoot.  I recommend that you come prepared so that most of your time can be used for shooting rather than hair, makeup and dressing.  Approx. 3 weeks after the shoot I will have the images processed and ready for your viewing.  All times are approximate and will vary based upon my current workload at the time of your shoot.  I will contact you and let you know when they are ready, and you can schedule a time to meet at the studio and go over your images and choose the ones you want. We do not offer online galleries, so please do not request one. I will edit about 80 photos from the shoot and you’ll be able to choose from those.  You’ll also receive a price list at that time just in case you want to order additional images/products. All photos will have at least basic retouching done, and some will have more advanced edits done.  No additional edits will be made to the photos, unless you request it and are willing to pay $15/edit on each photo for those additional edits.  I have spent years developing my style and I will provide you with a quality product you will be proud of.  There will also be a variety of images and styles so you are sure to find plenty of images that suit your own tastes.  Please do not request re-edits unless you are prepared to pay for them.  Even in that case, I will need to determine if it's something that I am able or willing to do.

Rush Ordering

If you need your photos in less than 3 weeks, we do have a couple upgrade options so that you can get your photos more quickly.  I work in very high volume, and do my best to get everything out as quickly as I can; however, you may need your photos by a specific date, so I do have options to get them faster.  Note that if you upgrade to faster processing, that I will not be bumping you ahead of my other clients, or making their wait time longer.  Rather, I will take that time out of my own personal time, and will edit your photos during non-business hours.  The options for expedited processing are 3 days and 10 days.  There is a $40 fee for 3 day rush editing and a $20 fee for 10 day editing.

Cancellation and Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule, I will need at least 7 days notice.  If you have to reschedule and cannot give 7 days notice, there will be a $40 rescheduling fee.  If you do not show up to your shoot, and do not cancel before your shoot time, you will forfeit your shoot and any fees that you paid.  No exceptions will be made.

Portfolio

I will never use any photos where your face is showing or where it’s identifiable as you in my portfolio without your permission.  If you do not want me to use any images (even those where your face is not showing), you can let me know that through email, and I will honor that request.  If you do allow me to use some of the images with your face visible in my portfolio, I will thank you by offering discounts on additional images or products you may want to purchase.

Referrals

I am so excited that you decided to book with me.  If you have any friends who are interested in booking, tell them to send a message to [email protected] and have them mention that you referred them, and I’d be happy to offer them a discounted rate if they contact me within the next 4 weeks.

Communication

We are in very high demand, and thus we are out shooing a lot or editing.  I am the only female photographer with PS Photography, so I do all the shooting, editing for the boudoir shoots.  No males have access to these photos, but as a result my communication and email response time is not always immediate.  Know that it’s because I’m out shooting or editing or in off hours am at home taking care of my four young children.  So I thank you for your patience if I don’t get right back to you.  If you don’t get a response from me after a few days, feel free to send a polite follow up message.  If you need to get a hold of me, feel free to email or call the studio at 425-640-0231 My husband Jonathan does a lot of our engagement/couples session, as well as does weddings with me.  If you call the studio, he may be the one answering the phone or calling you back if you leave a message.  He knows the boudoir process, so may be able to answer your questions, and if he can't answer your questions, he'll pass the message on to me so that I can get in touch with you.  My email address is
[email protected]   If you want to check the status of your images after the shoot, you will need to send me an email.  Please do not send a message checking on the status unless the time period quoted for your image processing has past.  When I get tons of emails asking the status, it delays my editing time.  So minimizing emails after the shoot will help me get everything to everyone much quicker :)

Music

We can play commercially licensed music in our studio, so feel free to let me know what kind of music you like and we can try to accommodate you.  Otherwise, I have playlists than most of our clients really enjoy.

Purchasing more images
Most of our clients pay the $300 session fee, which does not come with any images, or else they have purchased a package that comes with a couple images and a print credit.  There is never any pressure to get anything beyond your package; however, almost all of our clients love their images and choose to purchase more.  The average client spends an additional $400-$600 on images.  Print prices start at $26.  Disk prices start at $450 and go up, depending on how many images you desire to purchase.  Individual digitals can also be purchased, but if you are wanting more than a few images, it's more cost effective to go with a disk.  We have album options, as well as canvas and metal prints options.  We will go in the pricing in detail at your photo viewing appointment.  We can typically give you your digitals on the spot as well as prints up to 16x20s.  If you wish to purchase more than you're able to pay for at your appointment, feel free to ask us about payment plan options ($100 down is required for all payment plans).

We accept most forms of payments.  We accept cash, credit, money order and all major credit cards, with the exception of American Express.  If a check bounces, unfortunately we have to add a $35 processing fee.

PACKAGE ADD-ONS:

Is the basic session not enough for you?  Don’t worry, we have options for those who want to get the most out of their session and get their images and prints back quickly.  If you want you want to add any of these to your packages, I will need to have received the payment at least 3 days before your shoot.

Extra 15 minutes: $25
45 minutes is generally enough time; however, if you don’t want to feel rushed or want a little extra time for touching up hair and makeup, then this add on is probably a good idea for you.

3 day guaranteed editing: $40
Processing time after the shoot is variable depending on my work load.  Since I work with so many of you, the average time to view your photos is 3 weeks after the shoot.  I do my very best to get them to you as quickly as I can; however, I know that many of you need these as gifts and cannot wait that long.  If you want your photos edited within 3 days of the shoot, I will work on your photos during non-business hours to make sure you get them in a timely manner. Although the photos will be edited within three days, you will still have to schedule a time that week to come to the studio and view them and make your selection.

10 day guaranteed editing: $20
Processing time after the shoot is variable depending on my work load.  Since I work with so many of you, the average time to view your photos is 3 weeks after the shoot.  I do my very best to get them to you as quickly as I can; however, I know that many of you need these as gifts and cannot wait that long.  If you want your photos edited within 10 days of the shoot, I will work on your photos during non-business hours to make sure you get them in a timely manner.

If you would like to purchase any of these upgrades, you can make the payment to [email protected] through paypal.com (will be listed as Trina Anderson), or you can mail a check or money order to PS Photography or Trina Heppner at 6405 218th St, SW #203, Mountlake Terrace, WA 98405.
