One day I received a surprise that I was expecting. A pregnancy test had come out positive. It was bad timing, but we were very happy. I loved that baby dearly. I kept a journal and daily wrote to my child. I wrote about the events in our lives. I wrote about my hopes and dreams for that child, and about all my feelings. I bonded with that baby right away. One day I started bleeding and went to the emergency room. They did an ultrasound in which I saw my beautiful baby happily kicking and rolling. The doctor said not to worry that bleeding was normal in pregnancy. I was so relieved. That was such a scary experience. The next day was the worst day of my life. I lost my child that day. I saw my baby covered in blood and not breathing. It was a traumatic experience that I will never completely heal from. In that moment I realized that I had the opportunity to get a photo of my child during the ultrasound, and I didn't even ask for it. It hurt knowing that I could have captured that moment when my child was happily playing, but I didn't. From all of this, I realize that life is finite, and we cannot take any moment for granted. If we have the opportunity to capture an important moment or time of life, we shouldn't let it go. I was already a photographer, but at that point I realized how important my job was.

I have overcome many hardships in my lifetime, but these difficulties have made me strong and a fighter. My passions in life are God, my husband, my children, and photography. Photography is not just the click of a button. It's not an automatic amazing image. Rather photography is the art of telling a story with images. It's a skill of capturing moments and emotions. The end result are photos that make you laugh, cry and love. These are something you will love and cherish for a lifetime. This is what I do and who I am.
